The Growing Diabetes Type 2 Epidemic
Diabetes type 2 is also known as Diabetes Mellitus, and has also been referred to non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, and adult onset diabetes. Diabetes type 2 is a metabolic disorder characterized by a resistance to insulin, hyperglycemia, and a relative insulin deficiency. In most cases, engaging in exercise and modifying one’s nutritional intake is enough to manage diabetes type 2.
Recent years have seen a steep increase in cases of Diabetes type 2 especially in the United States, and there have been indications that much of the rest of the world is catching up in this same vein, especially in the coming years.
